چکیده
Major advances have been made in the past 10 yr in both the understanding of the biologic characteristics of acute nonlymphocytic leukemia and in the treatment of patients with this disease. Advances in the biologic characteristics include: a better understanding of the nature of leukemic cell proliferation and differentiation; a clearer description of the morphological, histochemical, and ultrastructural characteristics of Ieukemic cells; a recognition that a high percentage of patients may have specific cytogenetic abnormalities; and a recognition that biochemical differ-

متن کاملCost-analysis of Treatment of Pediatrics Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia based on ALL-BFM Protocol
Background Among all pediatric cancers acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is highly prevalent, butthe overall cost of ALL management is not well-known, there is a need to assess the Berlin-Frankfurt-Munster (BFM) protocol commonly used in ALL management in Iran. So, the aim of this study was to estimate direct and indirect costs of ALL treatment among children based on the ALL-BFM protocol from...
متن کاملAssociation of TPMT (rs1800460) Gene Polymorphism with Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in a Population from Guilan, Iran
Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a malignant transformation and proliferation of lymphoid progenitor cells in bone marrow and blood, which is mainly found in children. Thiopurine methyltransferase (TPMT) is a thiopurine drug metabolizer enzyme that is prescribed for the treatment of ALL. Several single nucleotide polymorphisms in the TPMT gene have been reported to be associated with the d...
متن کاملBioinformatic Evaluation of miR-222-3p Specificity in Binding to Genes Involved in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Children
Background and Objectives: Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) is a type of cancer that affects white blood cells. The disease progresses rapidly mandating immediate treatment. ALL is the most common type of leukemia affecting children. An increase in the miR-222-3p molecule has been observed in the course of this disease. The microarray method can be used to examine the binding of this miRNA and ...
متن کاملA Fuzzy Expert System for Diagnosis of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in Children
Fuzzy expert systems are one of the most practical intelligent models with the high potential for managing uncertainty associated to the medical diagnosis. In this paper, a fuzzy inference system (FIS) for diagnosing of acute lymphocytic leukemia in children has been introduced. The fuzzy expert system applies Mamdani reasoning model that has high interpretability to explain system results to e...
